Death of My Beloved Wife
It is with deep regret that I have to tell you that my beloved Betty Lou passed from this life this morning. She had been very ill for some time and it was not unexpected.
I live in Tullahoma, TN. with my wife, Winnie, whom I married last year. My first two wives passed away. The first, Evelyn, after 49 years of marriage and the second, Betty, after nine years. Evelyn and I had three sons, who produced eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A third great-grandchild was born early this month.
After service during the Korean War in the Regular Air Force, I enrolled in the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and graduating in 1958 as an electronics engineer. After graduation, I accepted employment with the Air Force’s Arnold Engineering Development Center at Tullahoma, TN, retiring in 1991. During that time, I served actively in the Air Force Reserve and earned Reserve retirement in 1989 with 33 years service, including an active duty recall in 1968 to serve at Osan AB, Korea as a Communications Officer.
In 1980, I became interested in genealogy and for the past 31 years have been active in that hobby. For ten years, I published a quarterly newsletter called the Brewer Researcher, with a peak nationwide circulation of over 200. Thus, the name I chose for this blog, that is dedicated to genealogy and its problems.
